In addition to the historical significance, this study includes Vance Havner’s hard-hitting Revival Messages from God’s letters to the seven churches.

1 Peter Pauln John
First Peter is a letter of encouragement (1 Peter 5:12). The theme of suffering runs throughout the letter, but so also does the theme of glory (see 1 Peter 1:7-8, 11, 21; 2:12; 4:11-16; 5:1, 4, 10-11).
One of the encouragements that Peter gives suffering saints is the assurance that their suffering will one day be transformed into glory.
NT 101 -New Testament Survey 2
The Gospels introduce the Savior. The Acts of the Apostles describes the spread of the good news about His salvation
Through a large part of the Mediterranean world of the fi rst century a.d. The letters give details of the blessings of that
Salvation, and Revelation previews the culmination of salvation.
It is called the New Testament (or Covenant) to contrast it with the Old (or “Older”) one. “Testament” and “covenant” both translate the same Greek word (diathēkē). In the title of the Scriptures the meaning “covenant” seems preferable because the
Book constitutes a pact, alliance, or covenant between God and His people.
Both Testaments are inspired by God and therefore profitable for all Christians. But the believer in Christ is often likely to
turn to that part of the Bible that specifically tells of our Lord and His church, and how He wishes His disciples to live.
